Black and white is the easiest color for your first themed inventory in CS2. The game has more monochrome skins than any other kind: every slot has twenty or thirty options, from dirt-cheap camos to premium rifles. So the problem isn't finding something, it's avoiding a pile of random grey junk that ends up looking like default skins with no paint job.
Let's look at which series deliver real contrast and put together three loadouts — from $110 up to a full inventory with a Karambit.
What "black and white" means in CS2
A good monochrome loadout is about contrast, not grey. Focus on three lines built around exactly that idea:
- Printstream — pearlescent white with black graphics. One series covers four slots: AWP | Printstream — $36, Desert Eagle | Printstream — $25.3, USP-S | Printstream — $28.7, M4A1-S | Printstream — $151. Color-wise, these are the most accurate matches in the whole palette.
- Neo-Noir — black-and-white comic art with red strokes: M4A4 | Neo-Noir — $26.1, Glock-18 | Neo-Noir — $29.9, AWP | Neo-Noir — $34.
- Damascus Steel — patterned steel on knives. It's the cheapest route to a monochrome knife: Huntsman Knife | Damascus Steel costs $73, Bowie Knife | Damascus Steel — $62.1.
Gloves are easy too: the palette has four pairs that hit the color almost perfectly — Driver Gloves | Black Tie, Moto Gloves | Smoke Out, Specialist Gloves | Mogul and Broken Fang Gloves | Unhinged. No other color offers that much choice in a realistic price range.
Before buying, decide what will dominate the loadout. A "white" inventory is built on Printstream and light-colored guns, and then a patterned, shiny knife works best. A "black" one leans on Neo-Noir, dark gloves and blued steel. Both work, but don't mix them evenly: if white and black are split exactly fifty-fifty, the eye has nothing to latch onto and the inventory looks busy. The loadouts below lean "white" — it reads better on screen.
Loadout under $110
In the budget loadout we take Printstream where it's cheap (AWP and Deagle) and fill the other slots with inexpensive white-and-black skins.
- AK-47 | Asiimov — $34.4
- M4A1-S | Decimator — $10.2
- AWP | Printstream — $36
- Desert Eagle | Printstream — $25.3
- USP-S | Cyrex — $2.6
- Glock-18 | Clear Polymer — $0.3
Total ≈ $110. AK-47 | Asiimov works here as a white gun with black details; the orange stripe is small and doesn't hurt the overall look. If you want it stricter, take AK-47 | Head Shot ($23) — it's cheaper and has no orange. Clear Polymer on the Glock is transparent plastic with black internals and looks far more expensive in hand than it is.
Loadout under $360
The mid-range loadout is full Printstream on four slots plus gloves. It's probably the most recognizable monochrome inventory in the game.
- AK-47 | Asiimov — $34.4
- M4A1-S | Printstream — $151
- AWP | Printstream — $36
- Desert Eagle | Printstream — $25.3
- USP-S | Printstream — $28.7
- Glock-18 | Neo-Noir — $29.9
- Broken Fang Gloves | Unhinged — $41.4
Total ≈ $350. M4A1-S | Printstream is the most expensive part of the loadout, so if you play the M4A4, feel free to swap it for M4A4 | Neo-Noir: you save a good chunk and keep the style. Unhinged were chosen as the most affordable gloves from the "perfect four" — black with white lettering, and in Field-Tested they still hold clean contrast.
Knife and gloves loadout under $1,000
For the full loadout the guns stay the same, while the gloves and knife move up a league.
- Guns — same as the mid-range loadout: Asiimov on the AK, Printstream on the M4A1-S, AWP, Deagle and USP-S, Neo-Noir on the Glock
- Driver Gloves | Black Tie — $104
- Karambit | Damascus Steel — $540
Total ≈ $950. Black Tie is black leather with white trim, literally a tuxedo for your hands: the most accurate fit for the palette among all gloves. Karambit | Damascus Steel is the most affordable Karambit and still slots perfectly into monochrome. If the Karambit isn't a must, Huntsman Knife | Damascus Steel gives you the same pattern and cuts the full loadout's total almost in half; Skeleton Knife | Damascus Steel ($170) is a middle option with a rarer model.

What to avoid
- Grey camos instead of contrast. AK-47 | VariCamo Grey, M4A4 | Urban DDPAT and AWP | Safari Mesh technically fit the color and cost pennies, but they're grey mush with no white. One on a backup slot is fine; three, and your inventory looks empty.
- Huntsman Knife | Gamma Doppler (Phase 1). Color-matching algorithms often put it next to monochrome because of its dark areas, but in-game it's a green-blue shimmer. It doesn't work with Printstream.
- Shadow Daggers | Doppler (Black Pearl). Almost black on the icon, but on inspect it flashes purple and blue. Gorgeous, but in a black and white loadout it only works as a deliberate accent.
- Printstream in Battle-Scarred. The pearl coating wears off in patches and the white turns dirty grey. Field-Tested is the lowest wear where the series looks the way it was meant to.
- M4A4 | Asiimov ($169). No Factory New or Minimal Wear, and in Field-Tested it costs noticeably more than M4A4 | Neo-Noir — while the orange on it is out of place in monochrome anyway.
- Glock-18 | Pink DDPAT — brightness-based matching puts it in the black and white palette, but it's pink.
If you want to go bigger
- AK-47 | Leet Museo — $170. White with black, closer to the palette than any other AK.
- AK-47 | Jet Set — $310. A classic with a black-and-white pattern, for anyone who finds the Asiimov too orange.
- Karambit | Blue Steel — $671. Dark blued steel instead of the Damascus pattern; stricter and pricier.
- Specialist Gloves | Pillow Punchers — $345. A light pair with black details — a rare case of non-dark gloves in a monochrome loadout.
Parting words
Monochrome forgives almost everything except grey: keep both a clean white and a deep black in every item. The full selection is on the black and white CS2 skins page, with separate collections of black and white knives and black and white gloves. Other palettes are in the CS2 skin sets by color section.
