Purple is one of the few colors in CS2 where the guns cost next to nothing and all the money goes into the knife. Every gun slot has a skin that nails the shade, and most of them cost less than lunch. The trouble starts higher up: the game has only two truly purple pairs of gloves, and essentially one finish that gives knives the right color.
Below are three ready-made loadouts: guns only, guns with a knife, and a full set with gloves. If you specifically want to pick gloves for a purple knife, that's covered separately in which gloves go with a purple knife; here the focus is on the loadout as a whole and on the guns.
What makes an inventory purple
In CS2, purple rests on three pillars.
Doppler (Phase 2). This is the game's main purple knife: a pink-lilac shimmer on a glossy blade. The finish only exists in Factory New and Minimal Wear, so you don't need to worry about scratches — every copy looks fresh out of the box. The cheapest way in is the Gut Knife — $99.1, followed by the Flip Knife — $261.
Guns in a "dark" purple palette. AK-47 | Baroque Purple, USP-S | Purple DDPAT and Glock-18 | Sacrifice are old, cheap skins with an almost perfect color match. They don't shout, but they look consistent in hand and don't fight the knife.
Bright pop skins. AWP | POP AWP and Desert Eagle | Night Heist add neon and keep the loadout from sliding into total gloom.
The bottleneck is the M4 slot. There's only one fitting option: M4A1-S | Nightmare. Everything else in that slot is either blue, pink or just off. So if you play the M4A4, you'll have to accept a compromise or switch to the silenced rifle.
Loadout under $45
Six guns, no knife or gloves. Everything in Field-Tested, all with minimal deviation from the color:
- AK-47 | Baroque Purple — $3.6. A baroque pattern in dark purple that still reads well in FT.
- M4A1-S | Nightmare — $6.8. The only truly purple M4 within reach.
- AWP | POP AWP — $5.2. The loadout's bright accent, and cheaper than plenty of stickers.
- Desert Eagle | Night Heist — $19.3. The priciest item here, but also the most color-accurate. If you need to save, Desert Eagle | Light Rail costs $0.9 and is purple too.
- USP-S | Purple DDPAT — $2.7. A camo, but in the right palette.
- Glock-18 | Sacrifice — $0.4. The most accurate color match of the whole bunch.
Total around $40. This is a base you won't need to replace when upgrading: the next loadouts are built on top of it.
Loadout under $145
Here it makes more sense to invest in a knife rather than gloves. The reason is simple: there are almost no cheap purple gloves with a good match, while a Doppler (Phase 2) knife starts noticeably lower than many people think.
Take the guns from the first loadout and add a Gut Knife | Doppler (Phase 2) — $99.1. The Gut gets flak for its shape, but in CS2 the blade pattern shows up well on it, and Phase 2 gives exactly the pink-purple shimmer that ties Baroque Purple and POP AWP into one picture.
Total around $140. The gloves are still default here — and that's fine: a glossy purple knife against default gloves looks better than a random "almost matching" pair.
Knife and gloves loadout under $780
A full loadout where every slot works for the color:
- Flip Knife | Doppler (Phase 2) — $261. The Flip has far flashier inspect animations than the Gut, and the price hasn't gone to the moon yet.
- Moto Gloves | Finish Line — $57.6 in Field-Tested. One of the two pairs with a near-perfect purple match — and the other one (Pandora's Box) costs as much as an apartment.
- AWP | Lightning Strike — $439. The oldest purple AWP skin: lightning on a dark background. It replaces the POP AWP because a full loadout calls for cohesion rather than cartoon vibes.
- The rest of the guns come from the first loadout: Baroque Purple, Nightmare, Night Heist, Purple DDPAT, Sacrifice.
Total around $760. More than half of that is the Lightning Strike: if your budget is tight, bring back the POP AWP and the full loadout with knife and gloves comes in at roughly $360.
The three loadouts side by side
| Budget | What's included | Total |
|---|
| under $45 | 6 guns: Baroque Purple, Nightmare, POP AWP, Night Heist, Purple DDPAT, Sacrifice | ≈ $40 |
|---|
| under $145 | same guns + Gut Knife Doppler (Phase 2) | ≈ $140 |
|---|
| under $780 | Flip Knife Doppler (Phase 2), Moto Gloves Finish Line, AWP Lightning Strike + the other guns | ≈ $760 |
|---|

What to avoid
- Doppler (Sapphire) instead of Phase 2. In previews, Skeleton Knife | Doppler (Sapphire) and Nomad Knife | Doppler (Sapphire) look blue-purple, but in-game Sapphire is pure blue. It clashes with Baroque Purple and costs many times more.
- Doppler (Phase 4). Same story: the picture shows purple highlights, but in hand it's a blue-cyan knife. A Falchion Knife | Doppler (Phase 4) will look like a mistake in a purple loadout.
- Ultraviolet knives in bad wear. Falchion Knife | Ultraviolet ($65.1) is cheaper than any Doppler, but its color is nearly black, and at heavy wear the purple disappears completely. Only take it for a "dark" loadout, and then preferably in good wear.
- Sport Gloves | Ultra Violent. The name promises purple, but in-game the gloves lean blue-cyan, and they cost $775. For that money, Finish Line is a more accurate match.
- Hand Wraps | Cobalt Skulls and Specialist Gloves | Fade — the first are blue, the second rainbow. Both often pop up in "purple gloves" lists and both dilute the color.
- AK-47 | Neon Rider and M4A1-S | Player Two. Popular skins, but they're pink-and-blue neon, not purple. Next to Baroque Purple they look like they came from a different inventory.
If you want to go bigger
- Karambit | Doppler (Phase 2) — $1,053. The same color as the Flip, but on the most coveted knife shape in the game.
- Sport Gloves | Pandora's Box — $2,936. The benchmark purple in gloves; only makes sense next to a knife of the same tier.
- Glock-18 | Twilight Galaxy — $205. Cosmic purple on a pistol you see every round on the T side.
- Butterfly Knife | Doppler (Phase 2) — $1,642. The ceiling for a purple loadout.
A parting tip
Build a purple loadout from the knife, not the guns: the guns cost pocket change anyway and can be swapped in a minute, while the knife sets the shade. The full list of matching skins is on the purple CS2 skins page, with separate pages for purple knives and purple gloves. Other colors are in the CS2 skin sets by color section.
